The PBSB(Punjab School Education Board) was established through a legislative law in November 1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. In the year1987, the Vidhan Sabha altered the Board’s Act to impart its autonomy. The scope of the Board’s functions is very wide and covers almost every aspect of school education. It is particularly responsible for making necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of public examinations at the school level. The Board also manages public examinations at the Middle, Matriculation, and Senior Secondary levels.
