Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) conducted the 11th paper for ICSE board exam 2020. The exam has been conducted for Chemistry- Science Paper 2 on March 16, 2020. Generally, chemsitry is one of the easiest subjects in Science and many a students score good marks in it. It is a mix of both theory and numerical questions. ICSE Chemistry Paper 2020 Analysis
The exam for ICSE Class 10 chemistry paper started at 11:00 AM. Students were given 02 hours to complete the exam. Check the detailed paper analysis below.
- The students who appeared for today’s exam said that the paper was of moderate difficulty level.
- Teachers who reviewed the question paper said that there were some direct questions asked in the exam and the paper was maturely framed at par with the council’s standards.
Paper was moderate, standard level, but was not as easy as last year paper which I solved. The last two questions especially of Q6 were a bit tricky.ICSE student from Lucknow
Previous year ICSE Class 10 Chemistry Paper Analysis
Last year, CISCE conducted Class 10th chemistry paper a day after holi. The overall difficulty level of the paper was mmoderate. Students when came out of the test centre, only smiling and satisfied faces you could see throughout the centre. Many students also claimed that it was the best paper till now and the difficulty level was as on the expected lines. - Overall difficulty level – Easy to moderate
- Section wise difficulty level – Section A was very easy and Section B was moderate.
- Maximum weightage was given to organic chemistry followed by the chapters ‘Metallurgy’, ‘Mole Concept’ and ‘Ammonia and Nitric Acid’.
ICSE Class 10th Chemistry Weightage of Topics
The question paper for ICSE Class 10 Chemistry is divided into two sections – Section I and Section II. Section I was compulsory and it had a total of 4 questions mostly of the ‘short answer type’. In Section II, there were 6 questions, out of which students had to attempt 4 questions. Check the weightage of topics in chemistry subject from below.
The next exam will be of Second language or modern foreign language after whch the next will be of Geography- H.C.G Paper – 2. To prepare for Geography subject, students should focus on maps and toposheets. Solve previous year question papers. Section A consist of questions from Topography and Maps which is of 30 marks. For Section B, revise any 6 chapters as you will have choice – The Soil, Natural Vegetation, Water resources which are comparatively easy lessons.
