ESLC Is the Eighth Standard Public Examination that is conducted Directorate of Government Examination, Tamilnadu for private candidates. Every year this examination is conducted across all the districts of Tamil Nadu State. ESLC examination is scheduled to be held in January/February 2018. Examination schedule for ESLC Private Exam 2018 has been announced exam will start from January 1st, 2018 and last exam is on February 02, 2018.

Who are Eligible for ESLC Private Exam 2018
Before applying for the private examination, students need to know whether they are eligible or not. Students must have attained the age of 12 1/2 years as on 1st December.
Submission of the Application Form of ESLC 2018
Once the students have filled the application form and successfully paid the application fee they must submit the application form at the Regional Offices to the Regional Deputy Director of Government Examinations. The last date to submit the application form was in the month of August 2018. Along with the application form Student must submit the Evidence for Date of Birth (12 ½ years completed on 1st of Dec) it can be Birth certificates or Transfer certificate from recognised school. Examination fee Challan or DD (Demand Draft) should be attached with the application form.

How to Apply for the Exam
The application form for the eighth class private examination 2018 will be available on the official website of Directorate of Government Examination at dge.tn.gov.in The application form will be in the pdf format. Students need to download the form from the website and fill it with the necessary details that have been asked. You need to fill the following details in the application form.
- Name of the student in Block letters
- Affix a passport size photograph of (5cm X 7cm) which should be attested by Revenue Authority or Gazetted Officer or Headmaster of a recognised school of the State.
- Date of BIrth, Gender, Classification/ Category
- Examination centre of the candidate’s choice (list of the centers will be mentioned in the application form itself)
- Father’s name
- Residential Address
- Subjects in which the student has passed already
- Subjects in which the candidate wishes to be examined
- Application fee details such as challan number, amount submitted or DD number and date with name of the Bank.
- At last signature of the candidate
After filling the main application form candidates are required to fill another form which will be given just after the main application form. Students need to fill the particulars same as they have filled in the main application form. In this form candidates must mentioned the subjects he or she want to appear along with the medium of language either english or Tamil in case of Mathematics, Science and Social Science. After filling the form put signature at the end.
Note- Read the instructions carefully mentioned in the pd before filling up the application form for the examination.
Application fee for all the candidates is Rs. 135 which should be paid through in the form of Treasury challan mofussil candidates and in form of Demand Draft for Chennai City Candidates.
Candidate will be able to fill the examination centers of their choice in the application form. THe list of the centers as decided by the authority is given below:
Tirunelveli Region- Thuckalay, Kuzhithurai, Nagercoil, Ambasamudram, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli Kovilpatti, Tuticorin.
Madurai Region- Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram, Devakottai, Sivagangai, Aruppukkottai, Virudhunagar, Uthamapalayam, Periyakulam, Usilampatti, Melur, Madurai, Palani, Dindigul
Coimbatore Region- Coonoor (Nilgiris), Pollachi, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Gobichettipalayam, Erode, Sankaridurg, Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri.
Trichy Region- Aranthangi, Pudukkottai, Karur, Ariyalur, Lalgudi, Tiruchirappalli, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Pattukottai, Thanjavur.
Cuddalore Region- Tindivanam, Viluppuram, Virudhachalam, Cuddalore.
Chennai Region- Cheyyar, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupattur, Vellore, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Ponneri, Tiruvallur, Chennai (south), Chennai (Central), Chennai (East), Chennai (North).
Subjects and Syllabus of ESLC Private Examination 2018
The Subjects for ESLC Private Examination 2018 will be Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. The non language subjects (Mathematics, Science and Social Science) will be conducted in Tamil and English language only. The syllabus and the text books for the examination will be the same as studied in the regular recognised schools for class VIII (Eighth).
Results and Distribution of Certificates
The results of ELSC 2018 Private examination will be released after the two months of conduction of the examination. The marksheet and other certificates will be sent by registered post to the candidate’s resident from the regional office.
