What are Competency Based Questions?

Competency-based learning refers to systems of instruction, assessment, grading, and academic reporting that support students demonstrating that they need to learn the knowledge and skills they’re expected to learn as they progress through their education. In public schools, competency-based systems use state learning standards to work out academic expectations and define “competency” or “proficiency” during a given course, discipline, or grade level. Thus questions testing students’ “Competency-based learning” are known as competency-based questions.
