CBSE Exams 2020 – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally declared its decision to the Supreme Court (SC) on Board 2020 class 10th and 12th exam. It has been decided that CBSE 10th exam 2020 has been cancelled whereas for class 12th, the students will be given an option to appear for the in exams or take assessment based on their performance in past three exams. The exams for class 12th will be conducted once the situation gets better.

For class 12th – For CBSE class 12th students. they will get an option to appear in exams or take assessment based on their performance in past three exams. Further, it has been informed that a formulated assessment scheme for class 12th will be prepared. The assessment based result for class 12th students to be declared by July 15.

For class 10th – Solicitor General Tushar Mehta has informed supreme court (SC) that there will be no further examination for class 10th board exams. The board will declare assessment based CBSE 10th results 2020 by July 15.

Parents approached the top court against holding Class 12 Board exams in July
The most obvious concern of the parents is that sending their child for the examination would put them at risk of contracting with the virus. It is being said that India will see a peak in the number of COVID-19 cases in July. Though CBSE has increased the number of test centres from 3,000 to 15,000 to maintain the social distancing but parents have questioned the practicality of conducting the exams in the midst of this pandemic.

The Bombay High Court has asked Maharashtra government to clear its stand on conducting the remaining papers of ICSE board of classes 10 and 12. The state is seeing rising number of cases of coronavirus cases and deaths.

There are many state boards like Telangana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry who have cancelled their class 10th board exams 2020. However, none of the school boards have scrapped class 12th exams. The students of class 10th have been promoted based on their marks in internal assesment and pre-board exams. Kerala conducted board exams for 13 lakh Class 10 & 12 students in the last week of May. The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) is the first board who has provided an option to student to appear or not to for class 10 and 12 exam. Such students can opt to have their results tabulated based on their performance in their school’s pre-board exams.
