CBSE Class 12 Fashion Studies Sample Paper 2021-22
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the board exams in two terms this year. Each of the term examinations is being held on 50 percent of the given syllabus. The term I examination has scheduled to be held in November-December while term II will be carried out in March-April. It is important to note that the pattern of the examination will be different from the previous year’s examination. Not only this, the pattern of term-I and Term-II exams will also be changed. CBSE has therefore decided, to make the examinations more “student-centric, transparent, technology-driven, and advance provision of alternatives for different future scenarios”.
CBSE Class 12 Fashion Studies Term 1 Pattern 2021-22
The term I examination is going to be held in November- December 2021. The term I exams will include multiple-choice questions including case-based MCQs and assertion-reasoning type MCQs. The examination will be held for 90 minutes but the students will be made to sit in the examination hall for two hours. The CBSE board has chosen to divide the complete syllabus for the 12th Class into two terms, with each term covering 50% of the syllabus. Therefore, CBSE 12 Term 1 exams 2021-22 will cover only half of the syllabus and students will have to prepare accordingly. As per the sample paper provided by the CBSE for Fashion studies Term I, the paper will contain 2 parts (A and B). - PART A– EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS consist of 3 units( two questions from each unit)
- Communication Skills-IV
- Self-Management Skills-IV
- Information and Communication Technology Skills-IV

- PART B – SUBJECT SPECIFIC SKILLS consist of 2 units and carries the maximum weightage
- History of Fashion- 16 questions
- Basic Pattern Development- 21 questions
- The second part has a total of 30 marks.

CBSE Class 12 Term 2 Fashion studies Exam Pattern 2021
The Term II examination will begin in March and will be extended till April. The term II paper will include questions in varied formats including case-based, situation-based, open-ended questions as well as both short and long answer type questions. This paper will also be conducted for 90 minutes. Since in the past two years March and April have seen an upsurge in the number of COVID-19 cases, therefore the board has beforehand provided the flexibility to schools. However, If the Covid-19 pandemic situation does not normalize, the March exams will be also be held as MCQ-based papers for 90 minutes similar to Term I. The exams are expected to be conducted in the respective schools of students, however, to remain fair, the papers will be administered under the supervision of external centre superintendents and observers appointed by CBSE itself. The boards going to issue a rationalized syllabus for both the term soon. The term II exams will cover the remaining 50% of the fashion studies syllabus.
