CBSE has finally ended the wait for the students of Class 10. After declaring Class 12 results on May 26, 2018, class 10 results were announced today i.e. May 29, 2018. And for Sreelakshmi G of Cochin, it will be a day to be remembered for a long time.

A student of Bhavan’s Vidyalaya, she has topped the class 10 board examination this year. She has shared this position with 3 other persons: Prakhar Mittal, Rimzhim Agrawal, and Nandini Garg. All of them have got the same score 499/500. Sreelakshmi has secured 99.8% marks in the exam.

After this great achievement, she wants to study medicine and be a successful doctor. She has decided to take up science stream . It will include the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

Sreelakshmi aspires to study medicine at Air Force Medical College, Pune. Studying here will help complete her objective of serving those who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country, she says.

Talking about her preparation strategy, she lays emphasis on preparing for the exam from Day 1 only. One should not wait for the tomorrow. The students should be regular with their studies. She says this principle was her motto. It helped her get motivated throughout the year which has resulted in today’s achievements.

Regularly practice of mock test was also one of the important things which she contributes her success to. She attempted these mock tests days before the board examination were to start.

She credits her victory to her parents and teachers who supported her during the studies. Her school teachers were very helpful as they taught her everything with patience.

Sreelakshmi’s father, S.Gopinathan, works as Senior Government Pleader. Mother, Dr Rema LP is a faculty member at Ernakulam Maharaja College. She has an elder sister as well, pursuing an integrated postgraduation course.

About CBSE Class 10 Board Examination

CBSE Class 10 Board Examinations were held from March 05, 2018 to April 04, 2018. Around 16.38 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 10 board examination at various test centres across India. Out of these 27,476 have scored above 95 percent and 1, 31,493 have scored above 90 percent marks.

The overall pass percentage this year is 86.70 percent. Girls, with a pass percentage of 88.67, have performed better than the boys. They registered a pass percentage of 85.32. CBSE Class 10 Board Examination was re-introduced this year. Previously the grading for class 10 was done through Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation method. It was introduced in 2009 after removing the Board system for class 10. No changes have been introduced in Class 12 pattern till now.
