CBSE Class 10 Topper Nandini Garg – Exclusive Interview!

CBSE Class 10 topper Nandini Garg says, NCERT is important and must be followed like a bible. Yes, she had shared her preparation mantra with us in an exclusive interview. We were glad to talk with the CBSE Class 10 topper from Shamli, Nandini Garg. She is one of the 4 toppers of CBSE Class 10 examination who had scored 499/500. The other top 3 candidates are Prakhar Mittal from DPS Gurgaon. Rimzhim Agarwal from R.P. Public School, Bijnor, and Sreelakshmi G who belongs to Cochin and persuaded class 10th from Bhavan’s Vidyalaya. Congratulations to every one of them!

This year the overall pass percentage is 86.70%. Thiruvananthapuram region recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.60, followed by Chennai at 97.37 and Ajmer at 91.86 percent. Also, the total number of candidates who have secured more than 90% and above is 1,31,493. And 27,476 students have secured more than 95%.

CBSE Class 10 Result was announced on May 29, 2019. Although CBSE was supposed to declare the results at 4:00 PM, it was announced early at 1:20 PM. Almost 16 Lakh candidates had checked their class 10 CBSE Board Results today. Interestingly this year we had 4 toppers in class 10. Nandini Garg is one of them. She shared her happiness with AglaSem and we are glad to be part of her most precious moment. Here is what she had to say about her achievement. Read her exclusive interview with us.

Q: What is your success mantra?

Ans. My success mantra is that to study each and every topic of NCERT books and attempt the question with a free mind and attempt to those questions first that you know well.

Q: What you like to do in your spare time?

Ans. I like to dance( freestyle), whenever I got bored or wanted to take a break, I liked to dance and fresh up my mind.

Q: What subjects you like to pursue further?

Ans. I would like to go with a non-medical background, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Q: What is your future perspective?

Ans. Right now I want to become a successful Engineer.

Q: How many hours you devote to your self-study?

Ans. I used to study 5-6 hours daily after coming back from school.

Q: How did your parents support you during the examination period?

Ans. My mother cooked delicious food for me to keep me going throughout the stressful examination time. Whereas my dad and other relatives made sure that I am not disturbed during my preparations. They helped me stay motivated and focussed.


What can we learn from Nandini Garg?

Nandini is very focused and hardworking what the aspiring candidates can learn from her are:

  1. In CBSE, NCERT Textbooks play a major role.
  2. In the examination, attempt all the question first that you feel most confident about.
  3. Self-study is very important.
  4. Do take small breaks and do what you like to do; like she liked dancing.
  5. Staying stress-free is important.

Highlights Of CBSE Class 10 Result

Pass Percentage: The pass percentage for Class 10 Result 2018 is 86.70 and has been decreased in comparison to last year, which was 90.95 percent.

Boys v/s girls: This year girls have done better than boys. The pass percentage of boys is 85.32%, whereas for girls is 88.67%. Thus, girls have outshined the boys by 3.35%.

High Scores: The highest score is 499.
