Humanities or Arts stream is one of the popular choice amongst students which offers a host of opportunities in various fields like mass communication, counselling, and teaching. Preparation tips for Geography
The main topics covered in this subject are Human geography, Settlements & activities, Map work, Transport communication & trade, resources and developments etc. It is best advised to the students to not to write long answers and try to write pin point answers. Start preparing for topics which have higher weight-age in the paper. Solve sample papers and previous year papers as much as possible. Do not forget practice questions related to maps.
Preparation tips for Economics
It is best that you prepare for this subject as per the syllabus provided by the board. Do not go beyond it but just stick to it. Also, you can prepare notes of important terms, definitions, important points of the chapter. This will also help you at the time of revision. Practice to draw neat-labeled diagrams as marks shall get deducted in case of un-labelled diagrams. Have a clear understanding the reasons for the relationship between variables – such as total product and marginal product, total fixed cost and average fixed cost etc. While practicing for the paper, ensure that you write correct equations and formula – following a logical pattern, copied correct values from the question to answer, etc.
Preparation Tips for Sociology
Study of human behaviour, its origins, development is not easy. Students can focus on topics like socio-economic and political background, views of thinkers, their analysis, contemporary perspective and evolution. There are some other topics which should not be left behind as it is not a day’s task. These topics are – Mastering Indian society Colonialism, Nationalism, theory of democracy, cultural and structural changes in Indian society. Do not study from too many books, NCERT book are the best when preparing for the board exams.
