Sonali Kumari, a student of Smt. Parmeshwari Devi Uchhtar Madhyamik School, Bihar Sharif, Nalanda has topped Bihar Board 12th exam in Science stream. She obtained a score of 471 out of 500 marks and got 94.2% in the intermediate examination 2021. Before this, Sonali had also secured 454 marks in the matriculation examination. Her success story is very inspiring as against all the odds she topped the examination.
Belonging to a very humble family, Sonali’s entire family lives on rent in the late Ganga Halwai house in Chaman Gali, Biharsharif. Sonali’s father is a rickshaw puller who works near the Bihar Sharif Bus stand. Sharing her story she said that she utilized the time during the lockdown and did self-study most of the time. She also thanked her tuition teacher Jeet Sir who guided her during preparations for the board exams.
Indeed, with strong will and hard work, there is no wall that you can’t cross. She shared that it would have been impossible to study under these circumstances as the schools were closed and online classes were being held. Her tuition teacher would visit her home to teach her every day and would also give her the mobile phone so that she could attend online classes and access study materials for the board exam 2021.
Asking about her ambitions, she said that she aspires to become an IAS officer in the future. She added that she will prepare for the UPSC examination and work for society and help the poor.
